Legal Question in Legal Ethics in New Jersey
Personal attacks
Do I as a union president of a small independent association have any rights from my membership and union attorney who are publicly humiliating and attacking me with half truths or outright distortions. There is and has been a total disregard for the truth.

Re: Personal attacks
It depends on what is being said and the context. You are probably a semi-public figure and the comments will receive some First Amendment protection.
But there are limits to what can be said especially if they have nothing to do with how you do your job.
A full factual recitation would be needed before your personal situation could be assessed.
