Legal Question in Legal Ethics in New Jersey
personal proberty
I am a chiropractor who had a massage therapist sub contract in my office 4 years ago. She only came one day and left behind a table. I have placed this table in storage and now she wants it back. Can I charge a fee for keeping this item safe for her? She just called me demanding I return her property. I had made several attempts to locate this person in the past and they never responded.
What legally is right charge a storage fee ( the table is located in the furtherest part of the unit possible and will involve unpacking the whole unit to locate this table) Or simple tell the person they abandoned the table and it is now mine?

Re: personal proberty
You probably have no right to the storage fee unless you put something in writing to the person in advance. And it is probably not worth your time pursuing.
