Legal Question in Legal Ethics in New Jersey
I was power of attorney for my mom who recently passed away. Now that she has medical bills coming in, am I obligated to pay these? She had no estate. What happens to any outstanding medical or any bills she had? Would appreciate your advice. Thank you.

The Power of Attorney is extinguished on the death of your mother. You are only obligated for those items in which you were a personal guarantor.
