Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New Jersey

bowel rupture

my father in law went to our local doctor for a bad pain in his stomach and a nasty taste in his mouth and the doctor told him he had gas and sent him home three weeks later he was rushed to a emergency room for pain and had to have emergency surgery for a ruptured bowel the surgoen that did the surgery said its been a problem for a couple of months thats why he had the pain and the funny taste from his bowel backing up should our local doctor have done more test he did do x-rays of his back but that was it who is at fault and do we have a case

Sorry to hear about your father's experience. Based on what the surgeon told you, it sounds like there may have been negligence on the part of your local doctor, however, I would need to get some more facts and/or review your father's medical records.
