Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New Jersey

Questioning prenatal care and screening

We as parents are questioning the review of prenatal test results for a full term pregnancy that had a DOWN SYNDROME child. There were no indications given to us and other health pros have asked if we knew about the problem.Who would be able to review the results for us,and advise if there were any indications that were overlooked?

Re: Questioning prenatal care and screening

Based on the facts you entered, it is difficult to assess what could've been known or done prior to birth because these cases are very fact sensitive. I would need to know what types of pre-natal testing were done, (i.e., amniocentisis?) what was the mother's age and condition, etc. before I could fully discuss the case. Usually such reviews also involve obtaining the medical records and reading those as well.

As far as who would be able to "review the results" it would depend, again, on what type of results we are speaking of - some tests might be sent to lab, some to pathologist, etc.

I am located in Cherry Hill and handle these types of cases. If you would like a free consultation regarding this case, please contact me at your convenience.

Thanks,
