Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

assualt

I am 18 and currently a senior at high school. I was recently attacked at a high school football game by a mother of a player (from the same team). She verbally treatened my well being, and grabbed my upper body. I went to the Emeriency Room 2 days after the incident and turned out she had broken my wrist. I know have a cast on my arm. I filled a assualt charge against her, but i want her to not only pay fines, but to pay for problems my broken arm has caused. I do not know how to go about doing that. Please Help.

Re: assualt

This is a remarkable story, especially in light of the recent Pacers brawl. You have a right to recover damages against her and possibly the school. (this may be important if she does not have assets or insurance). Since you are 18, is is very important that action be taken soon to protect your rights. I would suggest that you contact an attorney as soon as possible to discuss this matter.

We handle this type of case and do so on a contingent basis - which means that there is no fee unless there is a recovery to you. Initial Consultation is always wihtout commitment or fee.

We have 6 offices in the state of NJ, so I suspect that there will be one convenient to you. I can be reached at 1-800-34-NJ-LAW

Re: assualt

You do have the right to make a claim for the injuries sustained in the incident. You may have a claim against the mother and the school. However, you should contact an attorney as soon as possible as the mere passage of time may affect your rights.

Re: assualt

you can sue her for injuries caused by the battery. However, her insurance will likely decline coverage. Therefore the only way to collect against her would be if she has assets that are attachable.

Re: assualt

You can sue her for your pain and suffering but there probably will not be insurance because she committed an intentional act. You may also have a claim against the school for improper security. You have a very limited time to file a claims notice against the school and thus should act quickly. You can call me for a free consulatation. 732-286-2170
