Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

car accident

i was in a car accident 2yrs ago and my sister-in-law was the passager and now last week i recieved papers saying that she is suing me. We were rear ended by someone else what can I do

I agree with the other attorney, just call the insurance company you had and let them know what is going on. I would also get any police reports that were taken and send them off as well.

You should immediately forward those papers to the automobile insurance company you had a policy with at the time of the accident, which should assign attorneys to represent you. If the other vehicle is not named in the lawsuit, then your attorneys will most likely bring them in. Note also that the statute of limitations for personal injury actions in New Jersey is two years.
