Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

dog bite

I was delivering flowers to a home and got about 4 steps up the sidewalk. Two standard poodles came running from a side yard and bit me in 4 different locations, multiple puncture wounds and several gashes to arms and legs. Later went back to re-deliver flowers and owner invites me in to look over the wounds, he was a vascular surgeon, he cleaned out wounds and said dog bites are sterile and should be no problem. I took him at his word but later that evening I went to ER because they were still bleeding. I got a different story from ER who gave me tetanus shot and antibiotics and notified the board of health. Found out the dogs had bitten before. I suspect that owner knew if I went to ER it would be reported and his dogs would be put at risk. Six months later bites marks have healed with some scarring on leg. My fear is if some child walks across that yard, they have an invisible fence, they will not get off as lucky as me. Should i sue and what should i sue for

Re: dog bite

The owner of the dogs is strictly liable for the dog bites. That means you can recover pain and suffering damages from him. I have handled such cases before. Call me at 732/286/2170 if you wish to discuss further.
