Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

fire truck

I was approximately 10 yrs of age when I was struck by a local city fire truck during a routine fire dispatch.I sustained permanent injuries inwhich left me incapable to go to school for 1 1/2-3 months and doctor visits 3 times a week for 4-12 months and routine psychiatric evaluations on an as needed basis by a certified psychiatrist.Presently,I still suffer arthiritis(aches & pains)in and around the injured areas. What should I do?

Re: fire truck

The statute of limitations in New Jersey for a personal injury is 2 years after the injury occurs. If the injury occured when you were a minor, as this did, then then the 2 years begins when you turn 18.

Thus, you may sue for personal injuries any time before two years after turning 18, the age of maturity in New Jersey. In other words, you can sue up until you are 20. If this applies to you, contact my office or any attorney of your choice and begin a lawsuit immediately.
