Re: lost a limb
Clearly losing a leg is a very severe injury. This question is not a simple one to answer, however, due to the variables that always come into play with respect to any injury or lawsuit. Liability is an issue, as well as the injured party's specific circumstances in terms of age, employment, family, etc. What also may come into play is the liable party's circumstances, such as whether it is an individual or business, the amount of insurance, and whether there are assets over and above the insurance limits. I invite you to contact me with further specifics regarding the circumstances surrounding this incident so that we can discuss this in more detail.
Re: lost a limb
Not every accident means that there will be a recovery. If it is in the workplace and worker's comp applies, then it follows a specific schedule of payments depending on your wages. If it is a thrid party case, meaning someone else was at fault for the injury, there are many variables involved including the type of work you do, your family situation, your age and the amount of disability it causes. Also, you other losses, such as wage losses, medical bills paly a part. Also, you must consider the the probability of success and and whether there is any comparative negligence to determine fair value. In light of the vast number of variables, it is impossible to give oyu an answer.
Generally I say that cases are worth one of two numbers, what they offer if that is something that you will accept or what a jury will award, if at all. If you would like to discuss your particular circumstances, then I would be happy to address this with you. Please feel free to contact me at 1-800-34 NJ LAW
Re: lost a limb
depends upon a lot of things. Were you employed at the time, how old are you, did you have a prior problem with the limb, were you in the course of your employment, what jurisdiction, how did it happen?
