Pulmonary Fibrosis

My father worked for a warehouse with poor ventilation for 11 years. In the past year he was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. The lung specialist said that it could be a possiblity that a combination of chemicals and the dust at his job might be the caused of his fibrosis. But when my father was collecting disability, the doctor never stated on the papers that his condition might be work related. The company where he worked used acid cleaner to clean batteries as well as other cleaning products with not appropriate ventilation. Due to his condition now he uses oxygen daily. He had to retired from the job and has no health insurance. Can he file a claim against his employer? I read something about a cash settlement for loss of function caused by work-related? Is it posssible to prove this?

You need a doctor to say that his condition was caused by work-related conditions. Did you file a Workers' Compensation claim? If not, you might want to file one.
