Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey
rear ended in car accident
i was rear ended in a car accident last year in NJ in which my car was totaled.i had blinding headaches, neck and back pain, had trouble sleeping and was scared to drive .i went to physical therapy for the pain for about 5 months and to a psychiatrist for about 6. all that time i had a lawyer which i found in the Yellow pages.I stopped going to the doctors in May and that's when the lawyer told me he will call me about a possible settlement in July or so. i got a LETTER today from him stating that he closes the case because there were no permanent injuries and the insurance company will not make a voluntary settlement and the case will be lost at trail.and that came after months in which they assured me i have a solid case considering the damage to the car( over $14500) and all the medical bills and doctors opinions.
my question is- will all the pain and suffering i went through go unjustified and unpaid for?is my a case of just having a bad lawyer or that's the way the system works?
