Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey
I just got served with a lawsuit by a woman who claims my dog vicously attacted her 2 years ago. I remember the incident. She was walking in the street, I was putting my dog in the car and my dog starting barking at her dog that she was walking. She tripped over her dog and said she hurt her arm. I got her some ice because I felt bad because I think my dog startled her (my dog is a pit bull). My dog did not bite her or harm her. Nothing else happened that day (no police were called, noone filed any complaints about the other, etc) I have nothing. I don't own a home and have about $300 to my name. I can't afford a lawyer. What do I do?
1 Answer from Attorneys
If you have renters insurance perhaps this incident would be covered. If you really have nothing I doubt that any attorney would represent the woman who is suing you.
You cannot get blood from a stone. You may even have declared bkry and are judgment proof.
As far as you are concerned, I would call legal aide of nj.
