Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

Stall on lawsuit

I was involved in a four car collision in 2003. My car was totalled, and I sustained neck and back injuries. The driver who caused the accident was under insured. It paid $14,000. However my insurance has a uninsured/underinsured motorist clause. My attorney filed a suit. And offered me $5,000. My attorney rejected that offer. It it now going to arbitration, which they cancelled twice. How long can they stall on settleing my claim???

Re: Stall on lawsuit

The bottom line on uninsured/underinsured claims is always the arbitration. Don't expect a good claim before the arbitrarion; just prepare well for the arbitration.

The arbitration may have a few adjournments, but it is not like going to court; your case is the only case.

Call me if you like.
