Statute of limitations for filing a Slander claim in NJ

What is the statute of limitation for filing a slander claim in NJ? When does the time start for calculating the time left to file before the statute of limitations takes effect?

2 years from the time of the salnder generally. Hwoever, it may run from the time you learned of it, depnding on the circumstances.

N.J.S.A. 2A:14-3, in pertinent part, provides

*6 Every action at law for libel or slander shall be commenced within one year after the publication of the alleged libel or slander.

ONE YEAR STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS

N.J.S.A. 2A:14-3, in pertinent part, provides

Every action at law for libel or slander shall be commenced within one year after the publication of the alleged libel or slander.
