Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

who can be sued

My husband is the registered owner of a car that my daughter co-signed for. She drives the car all the time. She lent her boyfriend her car he had an accident. She wasn't in the car at the time. Her boyfriend came to an agreement with the other party that my daughter and the girl in the other car would say they were the drivers. Both men had prob. with there licenses. My daughter worked right next to where the accident was he went and got her and she told police she was the driver and the other people said the other girl was the driver even though it was both men driivng. Now my daughter and husband are being sued. Our ins. co. informed us we would be getting paperwork from their att. which we did receive last night. My daughter is no longer seeing this guy he actually is in jail. He wasn't even listed as being in the car at the time, his name is nowhere on the police or paperwork from their att. The ins. co. knows nothing of the true story what do we do? Help

Re: who can be sued

First thing, you go see a lawyer before your daughter's actions push YOU into telling lies to police and others. Get some advice. Lying to the police is no joke, it is a crime. Your daughter will need some legal advice too, she is facing serious problems.

Please, go see a lawyer before you do anything more.
