Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey
workman's comp/personal injury
I fell at a parking lot at work (several potholes) and needed surgery. The lot is owned by a third party, but in the contract with my employer, it stipulates that the employer is responsible for maintaining the lot. Can I still sue the lot owner? Thanks.

No attorney can answer this question over the internet. An attorney will need a lot more information and will also need to investigate this.
You MIGHT be able to sue the lot owner, and you very likely have a worker's compensation claim against your employer.

Probably. The contract between the owner and your employer is between those two parties. You would sue the owner.
I have a lot of experience in these types of cases on BOTH Plaintiff's and Defendant's side. Please give me a call if you wish to discuss your options.

Dear Sir/Madam:
Sorry to hear about your fall. Sounds like your injury was a nasty one. I am an attorney licensed in NJ, PA and FL.
To answer your question, you should be able to sue the owner. The owner can then get reimbursed by your employer.
Shoot me and email with your number and I'll be happy to call you and go through your options with you. I've handled cases in Cumberland, Camden, Bergen, and other counties in NJ.
Take care,
Lenny

You can probably sue both ways.
