Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

1. My landlord was renting an illegal apartment or an apartment that was registered as commercial vs residential. She harassed me out (though I left my bed and other belongings), then filed an eviction I never got (hence I didn't show up to court). I knew there was some kind of violation on the place, that she took from the mail, so I called zoning and they were confused in terms of where I was living in the building since it was registered at 2 family, and asked "so you're living in the back of the store???" She lied to the courts and made it look like I was renting a store (that was attached to the dwelling) when I was renting as a tenant (though the place wasn't habitable). Her fraudulent claims in the court has also tainted my records. What do I do?

2. I also had a roommate that I left in the apartment, that she claims damaged the property while I was away... except he damaged it because she provoked him by not giving up the deposits. Am I responsible for damages he caused when I wasn't present in the apartment for at least a month?
