Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Adding My Wifes Name on Deed

I own some property, and I want to build a house on there. The property is in my name ,as I have owned it for 8 years. I got married last June and I want to add my wife's name on deed. My question is how do I do it, and do I need a lawyer? Thank you for any help.

adding wife's name to Deed

In NJ, only owners of real property and attorneys may prepare deeds. However, you must be sure that the deed is complete and accurate, and that the way you and your have title to the property is correctly stated. Unless you are very familiar with preparation of deeds, you should have a real estate attorney at least review it for you.

Also with offices at 900 Haddon Avenue, Suite 412, Collingswood NJ 08108; 609-858-7775.
