we bought a house prior to being married. but because my credit was poor only his name is on the house. now that we are married, can my name be added to the deed?

Not unless the mortgage has been paid. Changing the ownership of a mortgaged property is normally an act of default under the mortgage. � See also: http://info.corbettlaw.net/lawguru.htm
