due to my job transfer i had to leave my old apartment, the lease for which expires only in october 2002.now i am in a completly different state.

would i still be liable to pay the rent till the end of lease.since doing that will not be a feasible solution.

Re: breakage of tenant lease

Unfortunately, your lease is a contract between you and your landlord. If it does not contain provisions permitting you to terminate the lease early, you are responsible for rent to the end of the lease term.

Sometime, landlords will permit you to "buy out" the rest of your term, for less than the rent to the end of the term. It's worth asking about.
