Breaking of Lease

I have put a deposit on an apartment and signed a lease. Giving 1 1/2 month security and first months rent. IF I break the lease, I know the landnord can keep my deposit but can I be held responsibile, if any, for not finishing my term on lease. And if I have a mental condition, can I use that in my defense if I have to?

You are responsible for the term of the lease.

You should try to talk to the landlord to get released.
