Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

commerical tenant without a lease agreement paying rent on monthly basis. Question is, tenant now wants to vacate -- What notice is required to give to landlord so as not to lose tenant's security? Does a month-to-month tenancy exisit even though it is a commerical property in NJ?

Unless the lease says otherwise, 30 days notice from the first of the month is required.

Probably 30 days notice in writing, send it certified and regular mail. Probably.

You have to look at the lease, see whether you have any other issues.
