Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey
Condo association help needed in nj
I pay 123.00 association fee every month at the townhouse that I own and since 2/14 /07 there have been no lights due to wire problems and they are taking forever to fix this problem. We feel very unsafe. You cannot see anything outside after dark. On top of this our fee covers snow removal and the past 2 storms nothing was shoveled and yesterday my husband had to go buy a shovel and had to shovel a path from our home to the parking lot for me to leave the house. This also included doing the next door neighbors sidewalks as well that we have serious problems with and all the steps leading to the parking lot. He called at 11am and was told this would be done. The only thing in this complex that was shoveled was the walk ways to the office. This is not fair that we pay 123.00 a month and had to shovel ourselves and was lied to and the office is the only place that was cleaned. They left us all this ice not cleaned plus no lights. What can we do? Who could help us? I cannot afford an attorney. Thank you for any information you can tell me.

Re: Condo association help needed in nj
If this is so, and the Association is responsible, I suggest all residents withhold their payments, indicating why this is being done, until they get their act together. Even better, if one of the residents is or knows a local attorney, place the fees in his attorney escrow account, and let him notify the Association of this, and that it will continue until all work is completed.
