The short answer to your question is that if you do not pay the condo dues, the condo association will file a lawsuit against you for the money. I do this kind of lawsuit for several condo associations.

In all liklihood your Master Deed says if you do not pay the maintance fees they will become a lien against your property and you may incur late fees. However, they will probably send several letters before that happens and you will have their attention.

I suggest you talk to your neighbors to see if they are having the same problem. Then you can form a group. Also check with the Association President to get some help. If you need an attorney to write a letter or if you have any other questions, please call me. Good luck.

Delaying payment of fees for such a purpose is probably not a legitimate remedy under the condominium agreement. It might, however, serve as a good tactic to get attention. You need to look at the agreement to determine what remedy the association has if fees are not paid on time and assess whether the protest is worth the pain.
