Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

A contractor put a mechanic's lien on my property. It has been over 14 months. If I'm not mistaken, this means that the lien is stale in the state of NJ. How can I remove this lien?

Also, the contractor who filed this lien filed for bankruptcy. Does this mean that the bank is the claimant? Can they renew a stale lien in the state of NJ?

It means that you have to take action to get this lien removed. And the bankruptcy? I can not tell what is going on without more information.

This is pretty serious stuff, your property has a lien against it. Call me if you want a lawyer to help you with this.
