Dissolving an easement that runs through my home property.
There is an easement that runs through my property. I am researching when and why the easement was established. I believe it was late 1800's of early 1900's. The easement is no longer necessary to the adjoining property as there is access from another road. I would like to have the use of the easement dissolved.

An easement may be dissolved or terminated by several means. If it affects only your and your neighbor's property, and no others, and was specifically for the purpose of access to another road, you may be able to have an agreement or a deed signed by you and your neighbor (and anyone else who holds legal title with each of you). The agreement must be in recordable form and should be recorded in your county office. However, it would be advisable to have a professional title search to make sure that all parties with an interest in the properties affected by the easement sign the document.
