Eminent domain
i am currently in contract to sell my commercial building to a school. the city wants to purchase the same building and has threatened eminent domain if i don't break my current contract. is there a legal loophole on each side?

Currently, you are in a very good position. Handled correctly, you will almost certainly get your contract price from either the school district or the municipality. My first impression without seeing any of your documents or speaking with you is that it would be a very bad idea for you to breach the contract. That is only an initial impression. You should immediately speak with a lawyer who can look at the entire transaction and give you an opinion based on all the facts. I think that things should turn out well for you but you need to get a fully informed legal opinion to make that happen.
