Re: Eminent domain

Currently, you are in a very good position. Handled correctly, you will almost certainly get your contract price from either the school district or the municipality. My first impression without seeing any of your documents or speaking with you is that it would be a very bad idea for you to breach the contract. That is only an initial impression. You should immediately speak with a lawyer who can look at the entire transaction and give you an opinion based on all the facts. I think that things should turn out well for you but you need to get a fully informed legal opinion to make that happen.

My firm handles matters of this type, however it may be easier for you to work with a lawyer whose office is closer to you. (You did not give your Zip code. My firm is in Marlton.) If I can be of further help to you, call or email.

Have the school attorney call the town attorney and work it out. If you need an attorney call me.
