Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Failure of land development

I purchased a lot in TN. The developer failed to complete the development along with 14 other developments in other states. He indicated in several mailings that the development was underway. Is there any recourse? If so, under what legal statute?

Re: Failure of land development

The first question is whether you have damages. You said that you purchased a lot and I am assuming that you got good title to the lot. Did you pay a deposit for construction?

There are other questions: Is the developer in bankruptcy? Were there representations to you in New Jersey so as to bring the transaction within NJ jurisdiction or do you have to sue in TN?
