Is there a federal law that will require you to pay sales tax on your house when you sell it in 2013?

I somewhat disagree with John. While not a "sales tax", there is legislation that will impose some taxes on a house sale, in certain instances. The law is quite complicated and here is a link that might provide helpful information: http://www.snopes.com/politics/taxes/realestate.asp
