Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Myself and a friend were partners in ownership of a boat, my friend passed away and the family wants me to sell the boat and split the money. The boat has been sitting on my property for the last 9 years, and is in poor shape. The family does not want to help me fix the boat for sale. I ofered to fix it myself, but they would have to split the cost of parts and half of my labor. which they refused on the labor part. Do I have any recourse as to take off thier cost and labor from thier share.

There are a couple of ways to handle this. His family is being foolish. The options that you listed make sense. No, they do not get to make you pay to repair it, and then take half of the money without paying for their half of repairs. Sitting for 9 years? Whose name is on the title to the boat, if there is one? Call me if you want to discuss this.
