harrassment

currently im on section 8 when i moved into apartment lanlord claimed he didnt live here, after few weeks i learned not only did he live on premises but also with his girlfriend and a 13 yr old child they have together, his girlfriend has been harrassing me by telling my children they cant play in backyard putting stipulations on no noise after 9pm trying to blackmail me by asking for an extra 125.00 per month rent because i have company spending the night at my house parking her car in front of basketball court so kids cant play setting up camera over my entrance door to monitor who enters my apartment ripped my mail box off the hallway wall, threatened my kids that she will get a relative to phyical harm them when i told her i would not pay the extra money she sent me notice that i cannot have this person over anymore, my question is what rights do i have, can i sue the landlord also seeing that he is not stopping this harrassment? is this a good case to file harrassment against his girlfriend? please i need help he refuse to let me out this one year lease in which i have 8 months more to go and im sure his girlfriend is plan on making me and my kids life a living hell.

You probably have a written lease. Check it to see if there are any restrictions they are trying to impose. You may be eligible for legal aid to assist you in your claim against the landlord. Before you do anything, be sure you have not violated the lease. Also, you may want to file a charge with the local police about the threats to your children. If you have a legal claim, the police charge may be helpful when you file the claim against the landlord
