Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

New home construction, builder & home warranty

We closed on 3 condos on June 11, 2003. Have had major problems ie: mold, holes in floor etc. shoddy construction. Filed warranty claim, builder past 30 period and wants extension? He has lied for a year said he would fix things and doesnt and we have been very patient. He is very high profile in town and is giving us a bad name. He also had someone impersonate a home warranty inspector which I have proof of. Breaks the ordinances and the police do nothing - $$$. We wont give up any ideas?

Thanks.

You should contact a good real estate attorney and have him evaluate your case. We would need more information than what you provided.

Re: New home construction, builder & home warranty

IF THE BUILDER HASN'T SATISFIED YOU, GO THROUGH THE NEW HOME WARRANTY PROCEDURE. HE SHOULD HAVE PROVIDED YOU WITH THIS WARRANTY AT THE CLOSING. THE ITEMS YOU MENTION ARE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. IF THAT FAILS, GET APPRAISALS FOR REPAIRS AND SUE HIM.
