There is a house in my neghborhood that is seemingly abandonded. Can i pay the tax bill and gain ownership of the house?

You can contact the township to see if there is a tax sale coming up on the house. Once you become the holder of a tax sale certificate, there is a certian procedure you can follow to ultimately obtain owbership of the property.
