Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey
Larry - I'm the one who asked the DIL question. You're right: I meant give a DIL. My wife has paid CS to her ex since before we bought our house. This is what the Citimortgage rep said: "What im saying is that there is a judgment against her and therefore against this property for child support. Based on this we can not proceed with a deed in lie. title must be clear in order to do so."

I cannot speak for citicorp but it ahs been my experience that when a person sells a house on which the seller has a judgment for child support a statmen t from probation that the payor is current is sufficient to remove this problem. Please call my office and I would be willing to meet with you.
