Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Late Fees

I would like to know if there is a limit a landlord can write into a rental agreement for an apartment in New Jersey? My mother-in-law recently signed a lease and the landlord put in a late fee of $ 25.00 per day. Is this allowed?

Thank you.
