I have been married for five years. I am buying a house in New Jersey, but would like to have the assurance that my husband cannot force me to sell and give him half of what I am buying with only my money.
I have my reasons to distrust his loyalty. I would like to have a document drafted that he can sign in front of a lawyer stating that he waives his rights to this house.
HOW CAN I LEGALLY DO THIS? I have spoken to him and he has agreed to it.
I feel terrible doing this, but I have the right to protect myself. I see things happening all the time.

this is a 'divorce type' problem. not that you are getting divorced, but it is that area of law.
you are talking about a 'mid-marriage agreement'. this takes a little thinking about and planning.
You really need to get some assistance from an attorney. I suggest you find an experienced divorce attorney (this is a divorce type problem) who is not too far from you, and ask the attorney for assistance. You will have to pay the attorney for the attorney's efforts.
There is a lot at stake. Get a lawyer!
