Do I have to be lisenced agent in USA for selling properties OVERSEAS

MY friend has started a realestate company in India with tieups with various develepors in India. He wants me to sell properties to the peopel of Indian origin here in USA.

My question is Do I have to be Lisenced real estate agent in USA in order to sell properties in India.

Please advice.

Yes, especially if you want to get paid. You may also have to be licensed in India.

My recollection of the law is that New Jersey requires that you be a licensed real estate broker or a licensed real estate salesperson operating under a licensed broker in order to offer real property for sale within the State of New Jersey. Under some carefully defined circumstances, you may be able to act as an intermediary "finder" without running afoul of that law however you will not be able to enforce any contract or commission for your services. Absent circumstances that don't seem to apply here, you can't sue for a real estate commission in NJ unless you are licensed as a NJ real estate broker.
