Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey
My neighbor has a sewer clean that comes up into my yard. They left the cap off once and the fecal matter was 6" deep in that area of my yard. Now that summer is upon us it smells like S*** out front of my home. Now when I had the flood in my yard it came right up against my house, could have leaked into my basement. The board of Health told me it was not a health concern. I have a four year old that would like to enjoy his backyard, to me this is a very serious health concern. They told me I would have to get a lawyer that it was a civil matter. I however can not afford a lawyer as this is our first home and that is where all our money goes, and now these people are ruining our investment. Every time this overflows or they clean out a clog that are poulliting my yard. Conveniently it flows away from their house right into my house, it is literally two feet away from my house. Is there anything that I can do with out going broke.

That is insane. The town Board of Health should be all over this. Call your friends, call the newspapers, write a letter to the Mayor and Board of Health saying all this. Make NOISE!!!
