Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

neighbor's tree branches hanging on cable wires on my property

my neighbor's tree branches are weighing

down severely on some cable wires on my

property. the cable company told me they

hold no responsibility towards removing

the branches. i do have the right to

remove them myself, but i was wondering

if the cost of removing them could be my

neighbor's responsibility. the tree is

on his property-- so i don't feel i

should have to pay to remove them...

what should i do?

Re: neighbor's tree branches hanging on cable wires on my property

Is the tree you are speaking of in front of your home? Many townships will take care of trees along the street, so this may be an option.

If the township won't take care of this, then do nothing. If and when the branches take down the cables, THEN the cable company will take care of it. If you warn them of a problem and they say it's not their problem & they aren't worrying about it... why should you? If you lose service for any period of time, ask for a refund for any loss of service.

Don't worry about what you don't have to, you'll live longer and happier!
