Notary
A letter that is notarized between two parties legal in a court of law.

A notarization does not automatically do anything for a document in terms of the Rules of Evidence. It does, however, make it more likely that the document will be admitted into evidence and may add to its weight as evidence. Some documents must be notatrized to be effective as a matter of statutory law.
As to a letter, a notarization would make it more likely that the letter would be considered, by the jury, to be evidence that the party signed the letter on the date shown and intended to do so as a legal act.
