What is the procedures to giving a Notice to Cease to a tenant. Can the landlord just go by the other tenant complaint without notifying the person who is being complained about.

Re: Notice to Cease.

The landlord can simply send a letter or a form to the tenant specifying the activity to be terminated and the consequences of continuing such activity (if not permitted in the lease). If it is intended to use this to terminate the lease, obtain damages or similar relief, it must be directed to the tenant whose activity is being complained about.

If you have any questions on the appropriatness of the activity or to whom the Notice is to be sent, contact a local attorney familiar with the subject matter of landlord-tenancy.
