Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey
Outstanding Permitts
In april 2004 my husband and I bought our home and in Dec 2006 we had a house fire and found out that there were outstading permits on the roof and furance from the company we purchace the house from. I don't feel that I could blame the title company or our lawyer because how it was done. I found out from the town that they applied for the permits after getting caught by fire pervention inspector. The permits were applied for on March 15,2004 and they were picked up March 31 2004 . We closed on the house April 8, 2004 without being told about the permits that needed to have a inspection. The town tried to work with me but they failed the furance insulation . Since then I did contact the company in which we purchace the house from and they agreeded to correct the problems but I keep getting a r un around now after 2 months of waiting. What are my legal rights????

I am sorry, but I do not understand your question. I understand that you need some permits completed and closed. It should not be hard to get that done.
