Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Property left behind after bankruptcy

I sold a business to someone who went bankrupt. My equipment remained in the store while I attempted to sell it. Within 20 days the landlord took the building back,Told me to Remove my things within 10 days.I had 2 potential buyers. The landlord had someone he wanted in there right of way and let him set up business. My equipment is still in there. It's worth about $5000.00. He used it (my equipment) a few days and hasn't opened the store again for about a week now. He never offered me any money for the equipment or tried to contact me. Whats my move at this point?

Re: Property left behind after bankruptcy

Your statement seems contradictory. At first, you say that the landlord asked you to get the equipment out within 10 days. Then, it seems you're saying he won't let you in to get it. There are several issues here that need to be explored including whether or not the equipment is under the jurisdiction of the Bankruptcy Court. It appears that you have some rights here, but any lawyer would want more detail before advising you.
