Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

My question is I just found out that the Attorney representing the mortgage assignment on my mortgage is also the owner of the title company listed on the assignment. I also found out his wife is a title officer for the company. Is there a conflict of interest here?

Possibly, but unlikely. This should have been told to you. However, since the rates are regulated by the State, it shouldn't make any difference, as all charges are universal in NJ. Only conflict might occur if there is a title problem.
