Re: Quit claim deed
Your question is pretty clearly part of some larger issue, and it is very VERY likely that you need accurate legal advice before taking any step such as signing and filing a quit claim deed or any other document.
Whether this is related to a divorce, or the estate of a relative, or a business partnership which is breaking up, you need some legal advice. It may not be terribly complicated, and should not cost all that much money.
If you do not take my advice, then please do keep my telephone number handy. If it becomes a problem, then instead of spending a couple of hundred dollars on a lawyer ahead of time, you will be paying me (or someone like me) thousands and thousands of dollars to clean up the mess which has been created.
I have been doing this kind of work for quite a while. Please do not let this kind of disaster happen to you. Please do go see a lawyer FIRST.
That being said, let me answer your question: A properly prepared and accurate quit claim deed needs to be written up, and then signed and witnessed and notarized in proper form. It should then be filed in the county land records for Somerset County.
If you would like, give me a call; I am in Hackensack (northern New Jersey). I will be happy to discuss
this with you; a brief telephone consultation will be free.

Please contact me to discuss; I am licensed in both NJ and Massachusetts. My office is in Mass.
Re: Quit claim deed
Cutting to the chase, notwithstanding the other authors, a simple Deed in conformity to NJ law, and with the requisite attachments is sent to the Soimerset County Clerk along with a check to cover the recording fees. I mention requisite attachments as NJ requires several unique forms be attached to the Deed, which bear on the costs of recording and certain tax material. I can assist you if you would like a NJ attorney to prepare the Deed and forms, but would need much more information to do so. You may contact me directly if you need help.
