quit claim deed on property that has a mortgage on it
my neice wants to quit claim her property to me. the property has a mortgage on it. i need to know if we do this will i be responsible for that mortgage?

You need to have a lawyer review the mortgage documents to see whether or not the mortgage is assignable.
Is your name on the mortgage? If not, than the bank can not go after you, but the back will have a lien on the property for the amount of the mortgage & can foreclose on the property.
