is it possible to sue for damages, money, pain and suffering for a breach of contract in a real estate deal?

Damages include any monetary loss. What type of pain and suffering was incurred? This seems a stretch, but who knows what a Court would decide on the facts presented, and if there is a legitimate basis and sufficient proof, an award could be made.
