My mother signed a contract with a real estate broker who told her that by signing the contract she would automatically be covered by a home protection plan. Three months later when my mother had a problem, the realtor didn't return her calls for a month, then said, ''oh didn't I give you the booklet when you signed the contract?''. It took two more weeks of phone calls to get a booklet, which was delivered by someone else. It was an application to apply for a home protection plan for about $500. During this time my mother was also trying to get in touch with her to lower the price on her home. The realtor has not spoken to my mother or returned a call since she asked how to recoup on the home inspection plan. Also, broker worded the contract that if anyone other than her specifically, even if they were from her office, sold the house, she was entitled to split the commision. She has never brought a client to the house. Others in her office have many times. Someone made an offer on the house four days ago and she has not received a return call from her realtor so that she could make a counter offer or even accept this offer. The realtors contract listing the house is for nine months. Can my mother get out of this contract?

This is unusual, really. Not many brokers act in this fashion.
Your mother needs to take all of the paperwork to a lawyer, and get some advice. It sounds like the broker is not doing her job, and ought to be fired, but you have to look it over carefully and do it correctly.
